HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, met today in Jeddah with H.E. Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP 29).
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of climate action, as well as joint efforts to achieve the goals and principles of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.
They also reviewed the Kingdom's efforts and initiatives to mitigate impacts of climate change including utilizing renewable energy sources as well as managing and removing emissions through Saudi and Middle East Green initiatives, circular carbon economy approach, and other national and regional programs and initiatives.
