HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, signed a Saudi-Dutch MoC on energy with Micky Adriaansens, Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy of the Netherlands. The MoC signing was on the sidelines of HRH Prince Abdulaziz's visit to Netherlands to attend the World Hydrogen Summit 2023, held in Rotterdam city between May 10-11, 2023.
The MoC aims at establishing a Saudi-Dutch cooperation framework and promoting it in energy sectors, including renewables, energy efficiency, and electricity. It also covers cooperation in other sectors and areas related to energy security and transition, including clean hydrogen, supply chains development and operation between both countries, as well as cooperation on climate change technologies and solutions, such as the Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) framework.
Under the various topics on the hydrogen industry and global supplies, which were discussed at sessions held at the World Hydrogen Summit, HRH the Minister participated in a session titled “Saudi Arabia's Global Ambitions in Clean Hydrogen", in which he showcased the Kingdom's global ambitions and approaches in this field, alongside special projects that are being carried out.
