On the sidelines of the World Petroleum Council (WPC) Youth Forum held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the Organizing Committee of the World Petroleum Congress announced that it has accepted the Kingdom's proposal to host and organize the 25th World Petroleum Congress and its accompanying exhibition in Riyadh in 2026. The Kingdom received wide international support for its proposal to host WPC's conference and its exhibition, submitted recently by the Ministry of Energy.
Dr. Pierce Riemer, Director General of the WPC, offered his congratulations to the Kingdom on hosting the 25th World Petroleum Congress in Riyadh. With its globally significant position as the world's largest oil exporter with the world's largest petroleum reserves, Dr. Riemer said, it's beyond time that the Kingdom should host the world's most prestigious energy forum.
Furthermore, Dr. Riemer said that he is looking forward to working closely with the Kingdom to organize a highly successful event in 2026, befitting the country's status as a global energy leader and one of the world's most dynamic economies.
It is noteworthy that the World Petroleum Congress is a prominent global event, convening countries and international organizations triennially with the aim to strengthen cooperation in energy aspects and find solutions to the fundamental challenges facing the development of this vital sector. The Congress and its exhibition enjoy great interest from professionals and visitors from all around the world. The 24th World Petroleum Congress will take place from 17-21 September 2023 in Calgary, Canada.
