His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, affirmed the Kingdom's readiness to meet the world's needs of oil, as it is the first energy resource in the world, pointing to the tremendous efforts made by the state and all government departments and agencies related to the oil industry with Saudi Aramco, to restore production capabilities after the oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais were subjected to a cowardly attack, in 72 hours, which strengthening the Kingdom's position as the reliable, safe and most independent oil resource.
His Highness the Minister of Energy said, during his participation in the main session of the Russian Energy Week, held in Moscow, under the title "Maintaining energy Interconnectedness in Unstable World": Regarding the first 72 hours of the attack on the oil plant in Abqaiq and Khurais, it was a kind of training for me, just to confirm that I am still up to the task that I am undertaking, but I would not have been able to carry out the mission without the support I received from the rest of the Saudi government, from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness, the trustworthy Crown Prince - may God protect them - the rest of my colleagues in various government agencies, Aramco, and other parties associated with Aramco such as the electricity company, desalination plants, industry, and the entire nation.
“We have all been up to the challenge, and I feel very relieved and proud to believe that I can stand here and ask my colleagues, whether those present here or who are listening to me now, about any country, nation and people in the whole world who can overcome such challenge that no other place in the world has seen like. When you lose more than half of your production capacity, which is 5% of the world's oil supplies, and most importantly when the attempt is to make you lose your reputation as a reliable, safe and independent supplier of oil. During the first seventy two hours, we first sought to restore our capabilities and preserve our reputation, fulfilling our responsibility to carry out our main mission, which is specifically to continue to be the most reliable, safe and independent supplier of oil in a very short time”.
"We tell everyone, if you believe us, that is good, if not, we welcome you to visit us. We have hosted journalists and analysts to review our statistics regarding Aramco, and we have also enabled them to visit anywhere in Aramco. A group of important figures have come from many countries. Our ambassador here told me that the first day of the application of the tourist visa witnessed a great turnout. We welcome everyone to visit to stand up for the strength of our position and our full commitment to the world with regard to fulfilling the safe and reliable oil supply,” he added.
His Highness concluded by thanking His Excellency the Russian Energy Minister, Alexander Novak, his team and the entire country, stressing that the Russian people are a very hospitable people, expressing his gratitude for participating in this important session, which he hopes will conclude with strengthening joint cooperation between all countries to face the fluctuations experienced by the global energy market.
