Today, the Ministry of Energy has announced the qualified bidders for the activity of establishing, developing, operating and maintaining Liquified Petroleum Gas filling and storage facilities, and the activity of wholesale LPG distribution to consumer.
The announcement of bidders came in line with the previously announced Ministry of Energy initiative which aims at protecting the rights and interests of all consumers and licensees, improving the quality of services, creating an attractive competitive environment, raising the standards for work methods and technologies used in activities, and localizing technologies in this field to increase the sector's contribution to the gross domestic product; In order to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Following the shortlisting of qualified bidders, tender documents will be shared with them in order to apply for licenses for the activities of the Distribution of Dry Gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gas for Residential and Commercial Purposes Law.
The ministry emphasized that qualified bidders in the next stage must provide work programs, technical and financial capability, operational plans, and security and safety principles for improving the quality of service provided to the consumer and ensuring security of LPG supplies in the Kingdom.
