A virtual meeting was held today between His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, and His Excellency the Chairman of the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence(SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, to review aspects of cooperation and joint opportunities between the energy system, represented by the Ministry of Energy and SDAIA.His Excellency the President of "SDAIA" stated that the meeting reviewed the most important agenda of the national strategy for data and AI, which adopted, recently by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God help him - that would contribute to enabling the various governmental and private programs and sectors to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's vision 2030.His Excellency indicated that the strategy focuses on addressing national priorities and laying the foundations for competitiveness to launch towards international leadership in the data and AI sectors.The meeting, which was attended by officials from both sides, discussed a successful business model for the energy system, which includes all government agencies and companies operating in the sector to help achieve the desired goals in a sustainable manner.The cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and SDAIA will culminate in a MoU that contributes to enhancing economic growth opportunities and opening new horizons of joint work, given the large opportunities for research, innovation and capacity-building in the fields of energy using data and AI, which will play a positive role of its production and consumption, and finding innovative solutions that contribute to the growth of this vital sector.
