His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, met in Riyadh, today, His Excellency the US Secretary of Energy Mr. Rick Perry.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries and investments in the fields of energy, climate and technology.
The oil market conditions were also discussed, as His Highness Minister of Energy affirmed the Kingdom's role as the reliable supplier of crude oil and global market stability, and its full commitment to providing this strategic commodity.
The meeting touched on the role of OPEC and non-OPEC countries in coordinating production, and the serious pursuit of achieving balance in the oil market, in a way that guarantees the interest of producing and consuming countries alike, contributes to supporting global economic growth, and encourages the injection of more petroleum investments.
The meeting dealt with the two countries' concerns about the threats targeting oil installations in the Arab Gulf, and the freedom of navigation, as the two sides affirmed the determination to work together to ensure the security of global energy supplies, considering any threat to these vital installations is a threat to the global interests.
