His Royal Highness, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Energy, and the CEO of NEOM, Eng. Nadhmi Al-Nasr, held a joint workshop between the Energy System and NEOM Company, aiming to reach a roadmap for cooperation between the two sides, which would achieve the ambitious national goals of NEOM and the energy system together.
At the opening of the workshop, His Highness the Minister of Energy said: “We, in the energy system, support cooperation with NEOM, and we are keen to work for this cooperation to be an essential element in the success of the NEOM project and the achievement of its objectives, which are, in the end, integral to the comprehensive national development goals."
His Highness expressed his certainty that the goals are identical between the two sides, which confirms the twinning between them, stressing that the Ministry of Energy, with its expertise, will work to support the NEOM Company, which is one of the most important and ambitious projects of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, in all areas related to energy, such as the projects that NEOM intends to establish to exploit the mix of solar and wind energy, with the aim of making NEOM a leading in the world, relying on sustainable energy to provide all its energy needs. His Highness explained the interest of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect him - to empower the renewable energy sector, through the formation of a supreme committee for energy mix affairs for the production of electricity, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime, and the Minister of Defense, who confirms his keenness to develop this sector of production and manufacturing.
His Highness the Minister of Energy stated that the workshop will discuss the many opportunities for cooperation between the energy system and NEOM, which will be the beginning of success for all.
For his part, Eng. Nadhmi Al-Nasr thanked His Highness the Minister of Energy for the ministry’s interest and support for the NEOM project, considering the ministry and its technical apparatus a fundamental pillar in achieving NEOM's ambition to be the first in the world that relies on renewable energy completely, and to be one of the leading exporters of clean energy globally.
Al-Nasr welcomed work and exchange of technical expertise with all national partners, to benefit from their experiences or discuss ways of future cooperation in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and integration between all projects and national entities.

It is worth noting that the workshop witnessed the participation of the energy system as a whole, represented by the Ministry of Energy, the Electricity and Cogeneration Regulatory Authority, Saudi Aramco, and the Saudi Electricity Company. It included a set of main agendas: Energy strategies, electrical energy supply and demand, renewable energy projects, electrical grid connectivity, local content development strategy, modern energy technologies, research and development, artificial intelligence empowerment, and petroleum demand sustainability program.
