Deputy Ministry for Policies and Strategic Planning develops an integrated strategy for the energy sector to maximize the added value in the national economy with a sustainable approach and high efficiency. This includes a strategy for hydrocarbons (petroleum and gas, refined products, and petrochemicals), and electricity and renewable energy sector strategy (thermal resources and supplementary energy). The strategy will result in setting goals, policies, strategic trends for the aforementioned sectors, initiatives associated with performance indicators, and implementation plans to achieve the objectives of the Ministry's integrated energy strategy. This includes developing strategies and ensuring the collaborative and integrative alignment between plans. Deputy Ministry also measures strategic performance, supports the decision-maker with economic and financial analyzes and carries out its vital responsibilities and tasks related to the energy system, in cooperation with various technical authorities, with an incremental methodology. The Deputy Ministry includes the General Department of Energy Information Center, and the General Department of Data Analysis and Business Intelligence, which are the main data hub for the entire sector. For providing its services, the Deputy Ministry continues to support decision-makers in studying the various policies and strategies, submitting reports and strategic visions based on mathematical and economic models, regularly applying the methodology of business intelligence panels, issuing the periodic reports in the field of energy planning scenarios, and regularly developing in this regard.
