Scope:
Supporting the Minister of Energy in developing and implementing KSA strategy towards global oil markets and coordinating the alignment of OPEC's policies and decisions with the Kingdom's Petroleum strategy objectives and economic interests.
Missions:
- Ensuring the KSA interests is achieved through OPEC and by working with member countries through bilateral meetings, committee meetings and various workshops.
- Supporting and advising the Minister of Energy regarding policies and talks with producing and consuming countries to enhance the security and sustainability of the Kingdom's petroleum supplies, achieve stability in the global oil markets, and preparing the necessary intervention points for each meeting.
- Collecting and analyzing data to prepare potential scenarios for global oil market conditions and calculating expected oil stocks monthly in cooperation with the Policy and Strategic Planning Deputy, if applicable, which reflects developments and expectations related to the determinants of the Kingdom’s oil demand, and the variables related to the global economic environment, taking into consideration OPEC production decisions and affiliate agreements and production policies of non-OPEC producing countries.
- Evaluating and monitoring the agreements that adopted in the ministerial meetings of the OPEC member countries, such as the cooperation agreement between OPEC member countries and non-OPEC producing countries (OPEC Plus Agreement).
