Circular Carbon Economy
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during its Presidency of the G20, launched the Circular Carbon Economy concept, which was adopted by G20 countries as an integrated, comprehensive framework to address and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through four main strategies:
- Reduce
- Reuse
- Recycle
- Remove
These four strategies are in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s ambitious programs, which aim at achieving social transformation.

Alternative clean Fuels
To a circular carbon Economy
Production and burning then reduction
Reduction leads to:
Reusing CO2 emissions

Removing carbon emissions from the atmosphere
National Program of Circular Carbon Economy
The Kingdom has launched the Carbon Circular Economy National Program to draw a comprehensive roadmap, which includes technological localization and advancement through the implementation of the Carbon Circular Economy. The program is the result of joint efforts by different stakeholders that worked on developing and implementing mechanisms that cover all technical, administrative, engineering, and normative aspects in order to achieve the strategic objectives of sustainable social and economic growth, promote integrated climate-change solutions, and ensure global leadership in the field of circular carbon economy.
